British Marine Members set to shine at METSTRADE 2024 showcasing the best of British on the international stage
British Marine is once again preparing to make waves at METSTRADE, the world’s largest trade show for the marine equipment industry, held in Amsterdam from 19-21 November 2024. Over 40 British Marine member companies will be featured in the British Pavilion (Hall 3), with an additional seven exhibitors taking prominent positions in the Superyacht Pavilion (Halls 10-11). Together, they will showcase the cutting-edge innovations that continue to establish the UK as a global leader in the marine sector.
“METSTRADE is an unmissable event for our members,” says Lesley Robinson, CEO of British Marine. “It’s the ideal platform for them to connect with key international stakeholders, forge new partnerships, and drive business growth. This show is critical for the industry, as it brings together the latest marine equipment, technologies, and trends from across the world, making it a hub of inspiration and opportunity.”
The British Marine Pavilion, located at stand 03.221, will serve as a vibrant hub for both exhibitors and visitors. With dedicated drop-in areas for networking and complimentary refreshments, it provides the perfect setting for fostering valuable connections. The British Marine team, including CEO Lesley Robinson and board Chair, Matthew Beckwith, will be on-site throughout the event to provide support and answer any member queries.
In addition to the extensive opportunities for sales and networking, British Marine will be hosting a networking event on Wednesday 20 November from 17.00 on its stand. This gathering will offer exhibitors and visitors the chance to connect with like-minded professionals, share insights, and discuss future collaborations.
METSTRADE however isn’t just about showcasing products; it’s a key event for celebrating the very best in marine innovation. The DAME Awards 2024, set to be announced after the METSTRADE Breakfast Briefing on Tuesday 19 November, will highlight the most outstanding designs in marine technology. Several British Marine members, including GN Espace Galley Solutions Ltd, Cyclops Marine Ltd, Garmin, Raymarine, Henri Lloyd, Flexiteek International Limited / Wilks, are among the contenders for these prestigious awards, further demonstrating the UK’s strong reputation for innovation.
The highly anticipated Boat Builder Awards 2024, celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, will also take place during METSTRADE (Wednesday 20 November, National Maritime Museum, Amsterdam). With 11 categories spanning design, innovation, collaborative working, environmental responsibility, marketing and personal achievement, the awards recognise the achievements of boat builders and their supply chain partners. Among the 31 shortlisted global companies are British Marine members, Sunseeker International, Volvo Penta, Beneteau Group and Williams Jet Tenders.
“We are incredibly proud to support all the British Marine members who have been shortlisted for both the DAME and Boat Builder Awards this year. Their innovation, dedication, and excellence continue to set a global benchmark, and it’s fantastic to see their hard work recognised on such a prestigious international stage”, commented Lesley.
On Wednesday 20 November, in the METSTRADE Theatre, Hall 13, we also see the return of Women in the Marine Industry International. The event, now in its third year, is hosted by British Marine, METSTRADE, Soundings Trade Only and Marine Industry News and features an exceptional panel of trailblazing female leaders from around the world, who will be exploring the impact of technology and AI on the future of work in the marine industry.
“It’s fantastic to see the return of Women in Marine Industry International event,” Lesley adds. “This year’s theme is particularly relevant as we explore how technological advancements are reshaping not only our industry but also the way we work and lead. It’s vital that we keep these conversations going, ensuring the marine sector remains inclusive and forward-thinking.”
