The Great Britain SailGP team delivered on the final day of the San Francisco SailGP with the best score across all the teams in the fleet racing, taking their first race win in race four and then a second place in the final fleet race of the day.
The team narrowly missed out on making the final match race by ending up one point behind the Australian team.
Dylan Fletcher, Skipper Great Britain SailGP: “San Francisco SailGP has been incredible event for us from beginning to end. Our first win felt amazing – we knew we had it in us and it is so good to get there. We are still on such a steep learning curve, but we took all the positives on board from yesterday and agreed to all just do our jobs and that would get us the win. Congratulations to Tom and his team, cannot wait for New York SailGP.”
Australia went on to beat Japan SailGP in the match race final to take their second event win in the SailGP Championship.
