Helly Hansen Jackets reviewed
There is an extensive range of jackets for children from Helly Hansen from a Parka for winter to sailing jackets. Most come in a choice of colours, and so there should be something to suit everyone’s taste. With prices starting from just £35 they are affordable too.
Our testers have been putting the Daybreaker fleece jacket and Salt Jacket through their paces.
The Polartec® fleece is ideal as a second layer on colder days or as a light jacket on its own. It is simple with a front zip and Helly Hansen logo on the chest, and is, according to the tester, very cosy and comfortable. She also loved the blue tint colour although there are five other colour choices.
Our tester, Isabelle, summed it up as: “My favourite colour and it keeps me nice and cosy.”
Our favourite Helly Hansen kids’ jacket has to be the super stylish Salt Jacket, which is available in three colours and has a detachable hood. It is the children’s version of one of Helly’s most popular sailing jackets and it is easy to see why.
Not only does it look good, but its quick-dry, lightweight lining is comfy in the warm and cold. We liked the 360-degree reflectivity and SOLAS reflective tape for added safety, and the tester especially liked the zip side pockets and inside pocket.
Not just a sailing jacket, our tester, Dylan, was happy to wear it everyday: “I love wearing a proper sailing jacket like grown ups.”
Salt jacket: £145
Daybreaker fleece: £35
