A new concept for yacht racing and running is coming to the Solent in March 2018.

It is the brainchild of extreme challenge sportsman Scott Dawson who was the first man to run, swim, cycle and sail around the Isle of Wight in aid for the Marine Conservation Society and Meningitis Now. The WIND RUNNER CHALLENGE will see teams of eight race identical yachts across three different race courses, and as each yacht race finishes runners from each team leap off and take part in three different running races.  There is also an après-racing schedule.

Wind Runner is a fantastic opportunity to get out on the water, work towards a fitness goal, and raise awareness for a fantastic cause with a bunch of friends or colleagues.

Sponsored by A-Plan Insurance and ePropulsion Innovation, this  event will support the Marine Conservation Society, which works for the increased protection of the seas around the United Kingdom, via the creation of well manged marine protected areas.

Scott Dawson of Wolf Challenges, said: “I am delighted to be launching the inaugural Wind Runner Challenge with Britannia Corporate Events. Sailing and running have always been a big part of my life, and with the huge growth in participation within both over recent years, it seemed fitting to incorporate them into one event.

“The Wind Runner Challenge puts both sports on an equal footing in the overall result meaning whether your talent is for running or sailing (or both) all efforts count, making Wind Runner a multi-discipline event unique in the Solent area.”
