The International Paint Poole Regatta team have announced that Pip Hare will be guest of honour at the 2022 regatta prize giving, presenting the winners with their prizes.

“Racing will take place in Poole Bay from 30 April to 2 May 2022 and having a household name as respected as Pip to present our winners with their awards adds a special element of glamour to the event.  The regatta committee are very grateful to Pip and her team for committing to the event and I know there will be a very warm reception for her,” said Andrew Pearce, Poole Regatta President.

Pip Hare needs no introduction following her success in becoming only the eighth woman to ever finish the Vendee Globe in the 2020/21 race.  Pip has been a professional sailor for almost 30 years, the last 10 of which saw her move into solo sailing.  As well as training hard for her 2024 Vendee Globe campaign, Pip remains a journalist, author and inspiring speaker. Pip’s racing team is based locally at Poole Quay Boat Haven, a testament to the great facilities, sailing opportunities and picturesque coastline on its doorstep.

Together with providing scintillating action on the water, the International Paint Poole Regatta is also renowned for its welcoming pre and post-race socials hosted by the combined yacht clubs of Poole.  A Friday evening Competitors’ Reception allows crew to mingle prior to racing, whilst post racing socials and the prize giving at Poole, Parkstone and the Royal Motor Yacht Clubs on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday enable everyone to relax with friendly banter after the days’ action.
