PERSONAL RECOMMENDATIONS

“We were in Chichester Marina for 25 years and after a short break in Wales, we have been in Port Solent for the last three years with a 14m motorboat. We really like it there – it is perfect for us. The lock is not a problem as they dredge it every year. The staff are brilliant; always very helpful, with a core team of people.”

John and Diane Brunyate, Jeanneau NC 14

“We have berthed with Premier Marinas at Port Solent since 2002 and seen quite a few changes as the years have ticked along, from improved toilet facilities, the introduction of Premier Hosts and improved bridgeheads. The staff past and current have always made our stay pleasant; everything from using the fuel pontoon or transiting the lock and helping with lines when shorthanded or simply a cheeky chat along the way!”

Alistair and Carol McKenzie, Sailboat

If I had not come to Port Solent, I would have given up sailing. We were on a swinging mooring in Portchester creek and came to the marina on a six month winter package to see what it was like. We have now been at Port Solent for two-and-a-half years and go out every week. Staff are always willing to help – with a can do attitude. My wife does not sail but comes down and enjoys the facilities – for a woman clean toilets are important. It also feels secure – when my grandchildren come to visit, they can come off the boat and use the facilities or visit the playground. Everywhere is really clean and tidy. The restaurants are good – we go to the Harvester a lot. As a package it is very good and overall we would give Port Solent a 5 star rating.

Nigel and Vivienne Phillips, Westerly Pageant

We have been at Port Solent for around 14 to 15 years – we can drive home in 10 minutes. We like the fact that it is peaceful there, with no movement on the water. We have been on J pontoon for the last 11 years and found our neighbours really friendly. Management are also always friendly and we think Port Solent is pretty good value for money.
