Round The Island Race - Grand Union Style
I was a little jealous last weekend when some of my Yottie Boatshed colleagues took place in the annual race around the Isle of Wight (along with a notorious character from BP). Now I am doing it myself, on a slightly larger boat than any of them.
This is a shake-down cruise for the new super cruise ship Norwegian Epic, one of the largest ships afloat. After a night on board, sampling some incredible food and hospitality, we have now sailed down Southampton water and are in the solent, rounding the Isle to the east. The weather is incredible - especially for the UK - so I am typing this beside a swimming pool full of screaming travel agents and event organisers.
It has been an interesting day, photographing a boat somewhat bigger than the Narrowboats and Dutch Barges which are my usual fare. Sadly, though I showed them a nice illustration of my banner hanging from the bow, they would not let me list it among all the great boats for sale at Boatshed Grand Union So I still need more narrowboats to sell. I have a huge number of interested customers just looking for the right boat to buy. If you have a boat, perhaps somewhat smaller than Norwegian Epic, that you wish to sell, now is the time to give me a call. The selling season is in full swing and boats that are sensibly priced are flying of the moorings.
