Throughout 2020 the RYA is giving their 1,300 RYA Affiliated Clubs and 2,400 Recognised Training Centres the opportunity to win their fees for 2021 as part of the great 2020 RYA Joining Point Fees competition.

All clubs and training centres signed up to the RYA’s Joining Point programme will be automatically entered in the yearlong competition which will see the Joining Point that has successfully recruited the most new RYA members in 2020 have their 2021 affiliation or recognition fees paid by the RYA.

“Affiliated Clubs and Recognised Training Centres can be instrumental in spreading the word about RYA membership and how with more members we can be more influential in protecting the rights of boaters and the sports we all love.

“This competition is just one way for us to say thank you for all the hard work clubs and training centres put in helping to promote the RYA”, explained Conor Lee-Swift, RYA Membership Development Manager.

To date there are over 500 clubs and training centres signed up as RYA Joining Points. As a Joining Point, for every new RYA member the club or training centre signs up they receive a commission payment that can be fed back in to their organisation to help pay for renovations, new kit, towards new boats; the choices are endless.

Commission is paid on a quarterly basis, ranging from £10 for each new Family membership to £2.50 for an Under 18, so the more people they sign up, the more commission they earn.

As well as the regular commission payments and the fees competition there are also a number of other special Joining Point promotions to look out for in 2020.

In February and October registered Joining Points will also receive double commission for every new RYA member they sign up.  There will also be a special RYA goodie box presented to the top performing Joining Points in May, June and July, so on top of the commission payments the club or training centre that has signed up the most new RYA members that month will receive a host of goodies that can be raffled off or given out as prizes.

“With all these great promotions taking place in 2020 on top of the regular commission payments it’s well worth telling your members and visitors about the benefits of being an RYA member and how their support of the RYA also helps your Club or Training Centre”, Conor added.
