The Caravel Boa Esperança is arriving in the town of Cowes, where she will be open to public from 16 – 21 May so that visitors can get to know her story. The Caravel will be moored at Trinity Landing, off The Parade in Cowes.

She is an historical replica of one of the most famous Portugues ships of the Discovery age: the caravel that the Portuguese seafarer BartoloméDíaz took beyond the limits of Atlantic navigation in 1488, passing through the Cape of Good Hope and opening the route towards the East.  The replica was built in Portugal and is making nowadays a tour of several European cities by visiting some of the ports in England, France, Holland, Germany and Belgium.
