Dazcat 1295
The new design Dazcat 1295 was launched in August from the Multihull Centre in Cornwall where she was built. Since then she has been thoroughly sea trialled in conditions up to 33 knots of breeze.
Simon Baker, co-director of Dazcat and builders Multimarine, said he “couldn’t be happier” adding that “she performs beautifully even in really light winds and she looks fantastic!”.
Darren Newton, Dazcat designer and Simon’s co-director also said he was delighted with the new boat, adding “The hull modifications and centralising of weight have worked perfectly, she just glides across the water. She points really high and is the fastest tacking Dazcat so far – we did a two second tack where she lost no momentum at all, which for a cruising cat is phenomenal!”.
After his first sail up the south west coast the already besotted owner reported back “Topped out at 18.6 boat speed and 33knts of breeze over a spring tide at the Bill. She is a weapon!”
